What are the reasons for the brittle fracture of stainless steel precision castings

author:

The stainless steel casting method generally adopts precision casting. When the stainless steel precision casting castings are shelled, machined and installed, brittle fracture (ie brittle fracture) often occurs. In case of such a problem, the whole furnace casting will be scrapped. There are many reasons for this phenomenon. The following examples will be introduced to you.
The reasons for the brittle fracture of stainless steel precision castings are as follows:
1. The amount of deoxidizer-aluminum during smelting is too high, and it is easy to form aluminum nitride inclusions with the nitriding in the steel and cause the casting to be brittle.
2. The amount of boric acid is too high when building the furnace lining, which causes the carbon-boron compound to occur in the steel, that is, "boron embrittlement".
3. Excessive carbon content and other alloying elements exceeding the allowable range will also increase the brittleness of the steel. For example, when using pig iron to increase carbon, the addition of materials is not careful or without calculation, which will definitely bring in harmful elements.
4. The molten steel is severely overheated and the heat treatment operation is improper, and the grains are coarse.
